About Oxfordshire Music Hub

Oxfordshire Music Hub is a group of organisations who are passionate about getting all children and young people involved in music.

Music is for everyone, and we want to inspire more of our county’s children and young people to explore, enjoy and create it. We’ll help you discover all the opportunities and experiences available for children and help them develop a lifelong love of music.

Our mission

Our aim is to make music accessible to all, whatever their background. Whether it’s supporting wellbeing, building friendships, or widening engagement within and between communities, music is key to developing confident, expressive children and young people. We bring music to life by providing hands-on activities such as learning an instrument, singing in a choir, or performing with others. The Music Hub is the perfect place for young people to begin new and exciting musical journeys.

Our vision

Oxfordshire Music Hub is committed to the refreshed National Plan for Music Education (NPME) - ‘The Power of Music to Change Lives’. This outlines a vision for enabling all children and young people to learn to sing, play an instrument and create music together. We realise this vision by supporting schools to develop broad and balanced music curricula. Our offer draws on the rich and varied local partnerships the music hub offers.

Oxfordshire County Music Service

Our lead partner is Oxfordshire County Music Service (part of Oxfordshire County Council). They work closely with schools and other music organisations across Oxfordshire to deliver the hub’s ambitious programme. Specialisms in areas such as performance and outreach mean the hub can support a wide range of schools and communities.

Our funders

We are grant funded by the Arts Council England. With their music funding we’re able to enrich and transform the lives of children and young people across Oxfordshire. We are extremely grateful for their ongoing support and encouragement.
