Folk workshop - a review

A chance for all to try

Folk Weekend: Oxford invited partners Oxfordshire County Music Service to the Pitt Rivers Museum in March to deliver workshops to over 100 primary and secondary school children as part of the hugely popular Folk weekend: Oxford.

Using the music service’s children's folk instruments as well as their folk specialist teachers, the workshops provided children and young people with a taste of folk music. There were mini piano accordions, bodhran drums, shruti boxes and ugly sticks as well as lots of other fun things to try.

Grown-ups were also encouraged to join their small people with their own instruments or voices for the fun try-out session.
